          THE BACKROOM 263                 INTRODUCTION The long live talk show is highly confrontational discursive genre, a widely influential media phenomenon house as a political, social and morally controversial form of entertainment.                               PURPOSE This notion talk show will be to raise issues concerning the boundaries between talk (prototypically dialogical), and show (phototypically monological) between public and private, between collective and personal experiences, between expertise and experience, between interpersonal and mass communication, between information and entertainment, between discrete and overlapping indentities ("me", "you", "us", "them".                               COMBINATION IT combines two different often contradictory, rhetorical paradigms by associatting  interpersonal conversation (belonging in the pre-modern oral tradition) with the mass-mediated spectule (emerging in modernity). As a result à public - collognial language [talk show] developing in modelled in varying ways upon the practice of conversational speech, through a process of conversationalization of public disclosure.
